MG Gundam Deathscythe Hell "The Devil" WIP part 3

Time for another update on my progress for this kit.

There weren't much stuff done this week, because most of the time was spent on the wing. The first thing i did was to paint and mask the inner frame and the red part of the wing. After that,i went to cement the wings parts together,so that i can remove the seam line later. The next thing to do was modding the wing tips,i cut out the template that i have prepared and glued it onto the wing and apply lots of epoxy on it.I wasn't very good with the epoxy so pardon my mess with it.Now,comes the part which i hated most,SANDING.I spent 3 hours to finish sanding 1 side of the wing and will continue on tonight.Hopefully,i will be able to finish,so that i can do some touch up tomorrow,as you can see it still not quite done yet.

Lets continue on with the knee mod which i started last week.I went to cut out part of the knee cap's frame because the vent that i placed was preventing the knee to articulate properly. The 2 holes above the knee was supposed for the wire, but i didn't like the outcome so i'm gonna put 2 short tubes instead. The back remains the same, and i'm happy with it.

Some mishap here...The joint snap but I was able to glue it back.

Lastly, some progress on the launch pad.Added more pipes and damages, bullet holes and slice marks...

Stay tune for the next update which will be about panel lines and adding pla plate.Hopefully,i can finish them and start on the painting ASAP...I'm running out of time!

MG Gundam Deathscythe Hell "The Devil" WIP part 2

Now for my second update...
Firstly,I extend the neck a bit for mobility purpose.

Did some modification on the head/cheek so i could paint a different color for the red part.I know i can hand paint it,but i wasnt confident in my hand painting.

I added vents on the knee and drilled some holes for pipes.
And the vent on the wings are ready,I just need to add some pla plates.
For the diorama,I cut the launch pad into 3 parts.I burnt the sides and added pipes underneath.I will add damages later on.

Lastly,my color scheme for this kit.

Gunmetal-inner frame
bronze-some red parts
dark purple-black parts
dark grey-purple/grey parts
light grey-white part on the body

Hope you guys like it,stay tune for my next update.Cheers...

MG Eypon Gundam or MG Delta Plus

This are 2 of the upcoming kits that will be release in june and august respectively. So I'm here to share my thoughts on which kit to get.I know most people would say get both, but for some like me,do not have the money or time to finish both before something even better get released(I hope).
If you guy have read my last post about epyon,I clearly wasn't impressed about it.However, when I saw the new photos of eypon at shizuoka hobby show,I was speechless...The color and decal changed how the whole kit looked, the decal make it looked slicker and the color make it look fiercer.Oh,did I mention about the saber, can't wait to put shading on that monster.
Next on my list is the MG Delta Plus, the only things I can say about this kit is that its slick, cool and great for modding.Whats more do I need to say,the kit speaks for itself...
So,tough decisions right?Lets break it down one bit, both kit can transform,so why not compare the 2 modes of each kit together?

First,we compare the flight mode of both kits. For this,I would say that the eypon have a more unique flight mode compared to the delta plus which have a fighter jet look. Now that i look closely, doesn't eypon look a bit like transformer...hmm...Maybe its just me...For me,if I'm going for this mode,I would surely go for the eypon. Delta Plus flight mode would only look good in a squadron, but I don't think I can afford that, maybe 1/144?Haha...

Now for the tough one,how do you even decide?Weapons wise, all of them look great, especially the shields. Eypon's shield, heat rod and sword are just wicked, they look sharp and swift that could destroy anything in it path. For Delta Plus, the shield is very detailed with the missiles sticking out and the rifle is great looking. You can add more missile pod on the shield or expose some of the inner parts, and you can add a scope on the rifle or maybe an under barrel. So I would say weapon wise, eypon takes the lead.
Now for the body, both has a very different look, eypon has a big build and delta plus is slim.Delta plus's armour have a lot of lines, angles in them which make the whole body looks very detailed. Also, with the semi exposed leg, with the piston sticking out, adds to its overall details. On the other hand, eypon have a menacing look with all the sharp edges around its body. However, the lack of lines/level on the wing and shoulder make it less appealing, even though the decals made up for some parts (note:delta plus have no decal yet).
So,I guess its a draw. However,if you are going to straight build out of the box,I do recommend eypon. Delta Plus have great modding potential if you have the time.If not, give it a custom color scheme, making it one of a kind.
Tell me what you guys think.Cheers...

MG Gundam Deathscythe Hell "The Devil" WIP part 1

Hi guys,I recently started this amazing kit for an upcoming competition. This would be my first time entering any modeling competition and i'm kinda nervous because i don't know whether i have the skills for it.

I don't really like the wings so i came out with some mod ideas with the wing, like changing the vents and extending the length of the wing.I cut away the original vents and will insert the plaplate vents(forgotten what it is called) later on.I have also drawn out some extensions for the wing, which i would transfer to a plaplate and cut them out.I will them attach them to the wing and apply epoxy putty to them and sand out the shape of the wing. These plaplate will not only serve as a guideline while im sanding, but also strengthen the tips so they won't break easily.

I also did some marking out for the rivets that i want to put.The reason why i haven't drill those holes,is because i haven't gotten the 0.4mm drill tip that i need.

Advice-When installing these small detail like rivet or those tiny steel balls,if the diameter of those are 0.5mm,drill the holes 0.1mm smaller. So when putting them in,you won't need to use super glue to stick them, they would just get jam inside.

For the diorama,i reused the launching pad from MG aile strike gundam.Placed some plaplate and drilled some holes for wires later on.

Stay tuned for part 2!!
